This impressive pair of monumental antique porcelain vases is a testament to the opulence of French craftsmanship in the style reminiscent of Sèvres porcelain, dating back to around 1850. The vases are of a traditional baluster shape. Each vase is exquisitely hand-painted, one side depicting the mythological scene of Europa being abducted by Zeus in the guise of a bull, while the opposite side illustrates the young god Bacchus with Mercury and the Nymphs of Nysa and with interlaced "LP".

Further enhancing their grandeur is the two-toned 24-karat gold decoration that contrasts matte and polished finishes, emblazoned with the royal coat of arms of Louis Philippe of France, all beneath an imposing royal crown. The vases boast elaborate ormolu mounts that include floral handles, adding to their decorative appeal, and they sit on circular bases adorned with golden wreaths of flowers, all contributing to their majestic presence.
