The shaped pediment centered by a couple of birds surmounting a love trophy, flanked to each side by an acanthus leaf, above two glazed doors within a foliate surround, the interior fitted with two glass shelves, with a bacchic figure issuing wine leaves to each angle, the apron centered by scrolling acanthus leaves, on cabriole feet with foliate cast sabots.

Henri Picard (1831-1884), was an important fondeur and doreur who worked in Paris for the Emperor Napoléon III. Henri Picard was celebrated for the high quality of his production, supplied many important patrons including table pieces and garnitures for the Emperor Napoléon III at the Louvre.
