By Émile-Coriolan-Hippolyte Guillemin (French, 1841-1907)

A lively bust of a young french woman; dynamically sculpted with an adorable upturned smile and glimmering eyes, in a chemise with an incredibly ornate wrapped and braided updo. Crisply cast, the bust has incredible realistic detail. Resting on an architectural scroll form adorned with a flaming torch and and arrow, the entire bronze composition is mounted on a rosso fiorentino carved marble base.
