Louis XVI Style Inlaid Satinwood Marquetry Kidney Table
An elegant two tiered kidney side table with a colorful marquetry top. Crafted in France in the late 19th Century and constructed in mainly satinwood, this petite table stands on fluted column legs with paw feet and a lattice pattern marquetry decorated bottom shelf edged with a gilt bronze mounted lip, casted in the likeness of draped fabric and hanging tassels. The incredible marquetry picture top of a vase with follicular and floral scroll forms is particularly remarkable due to the striking green and red woods utilized in the inlaid wood composition. Drawer is dovetail construction, opening and closing with ease.
