A pair of original Meissen figures circa 1765 modeled by J.J. Kändler. Depicting a young couple holding baskets with bright pastel glazes. Later mounted on cast in rococo style French marble and ormolu bases with acanthus leaf branches with three-arm lights, which have now been wired for electricity.
Bases stamped "Millet", for Maison Millet, known for their furniture and fine bronzework, in operation in Paris from 1853 to 1902
