Gilded and Patinated Bronze Mounted Renaissance Revival Mantel Clock

This highly ornamented clock from the renowned E.F. Caldwell company is an incredible example of the fine design and craftsmanship the company is known for. The high contrast clock face is adorned with gilt bronze ornamental line work containing swagged and scroll forms with acanthus leaf textures which surround a central handled vase containing fruits. Encircling the ornament are roman numerals alternating with a repeated cutout in the ground of the clock face;  which reveal a brilliant blue enamel plate set under the clock face. The face rests upon an acanthus man mascron mounted to a stepped grey marble base.
