Pair of Fine Cobalt Ground Vienna Porcelain Vases

Baluster form porcelain bases, cobalt blue ground, a hand painted classical story encircles the belly of the vases, depicting Roman soldiers and an early baptism. Golden gilt accent the burnished band and through the vase, flanked by two applied eagle head handles that culminate in acanthus leaves. Stepped square bases contain classical porcelain glaze painted vignettes on all four sides.
