Vienna Porcelain Picture Vase

An Antique 19th Century Vienna Portrait Vase with irridescent glaze depicting a beauty in profile at the edge of a naturalistic forrest at dawn. She grasps the branch of a cherry blossom tree, gazing off into the distance, as her long hair cascades around her, one bosom exposed. A delightful blue background, beginning as a deep navy at the base, diffusing into a light blue as it moves up twards the neck of the vase. Brilliant and bright gold painted details ornament the entirety of the composition with scrolling, floral and foliage design motifs. Some portions of the gold are raised to embolden the depth of the gold strokes. 

 

Marks: 

inscribed Erblüht/ déposé and further bearing shield mark in underglaze blue to the underside.
